Brian Sauvé, President of the National Police Federation, was interviewed by Todd MacKay of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation about the Gun Confiscation Compensation proposed by the Liberal Government.
“We’re not saying that we support firearm ownership. What we’re saying is we support fair, transparent, evidence-driven decisions by government that are going to really address a problem in society.”
“And that’s the root behind this position paper. It’s really to shine a spotlight on gun violence in Canada and where do those guns come from?
“And should we be devoting our tax dollars through the government to perhaps stem the tide of where those guns are coming from, perhaps increase enforcement, before we go down the regulation process to impact everyday Canadians that have gone through all the regulatory steps to own and possess firearms?”
