EXCERPT: Despite the ready accessibility of Statistics Canada data, the Globe and Mail recently headlined bogus statistics claiming an exaggerated number shooting injuries. This CMAJ study includes as “youth” anyone up to and including 24 years of age. An age that few would regard as a “youth.” As well, the study takes an exceptionally broad view of “shooting” — including “shootings” by paint-ball and BB guns.
Thanks to Tony Bernardo and the CSSA for distributing my commentary on the March 10th E-News.
Please go to the CSSA website to respond to their weekly polling question: Should the federal government create a registry of prohibited gun owners? http://cssa-cila.org/2017/03/team-cssa-e-news-march-10-2017/
COMMENT: If the RCMP can’t produce any ‘evidence’ of the dollars saved or the effectiveness of the streamlined system for Authorizations-To-Transport how will they ever be able to implement the Liberal Government’s commitment to ‘evidence-based gun control policies and programs’?

MP BRAD TROST ASKS GOODALE: IN 2011, THERE WERE 324,723 PERSONS PROHIBITED FROM OWNING FIREARMS – HOW MANY ARE THERE NOW?
WHAT IS THE HIGHER PRIORITY, TRACKING THE ADDRESSES OF TWO MILLION LAW-ABIDING GUN OWNERS (which the government does) OR TRACKING THE ADDRESSES OF A FEW HUNDRED THOUSAND CONVICTED CRIMINALS PROHIBITED FROM OWNING GUNS BY THE COURTS (which the government doesn’t do)? https://dennisryoung.ca/2017/02/18/goodales-response-to-mp-brad-trosts-question-q-623-how-effective-is-the-governments-enforcement-of-court-ordered-firearms-prohibitions/
