This is the e-mail I am sending to the the Honourable Messrs. Goodale, Blair and Trudeau and my local MP for North Vancouver, Terry Beech. “Honourable Gentlemen: I find it hard to believe that it is acceptable for your government to require 2 Million law-abiding gun owners to notify the authorities of changes of address but can’t be bothered to do the same for many fewer convicted criminals who are far more likely to commit a crime. Thanks Terrence for your common sense response to our political leaders. I only wish our Liberal leaders had the ability to think so clearly and understood the meaning of their ‘evidence-based’ policy promises they made in the last election campaign. It’s not just the Liberal government either. The Conservative government under Stephen Harper had ten years to pass a common-sense amendment requiring judges to make it mandatory that anyone who is given a firearm prohibition order also be required to reporting any change of address to police.
