Unintentional Firearms Fatalities in Canada are Rare

EXCERPT: Despite the ready accessibility of Statistics Canada data, the Globe and Mail recently headlined bogus statistics claiming an exaggerated number shooting injuries. This CMAJ study includes as “youth” anyone up to and including 24 years of age. An age that few would regard as a “youth.” As well, the study takes an exceptionally broad view of “shooting” — including “shootings” by paint-ball and BB guns.
