This was an especially bad week for American law enforcement. Eight police officers were killed in the line of duty, including two officers of the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office who were murdered as they attempted to do a welfare check.

The Alberta bill received royal assent from the province’s lieutenant governor on Thursday, and a spokesperson for Municipal Affairs Minister Ric McIver told iPolitics the bill would be proclaimed into law “as soon as possible.”
